One of the main problems with AI large language models (LLMs) is that, if not properly managed, they have a tendency to fabricate answers to fit the question asked. Recent examples of such AI ‘hallucinations’ were the two High Court cases - claims against the Qatar National Bank and the London Borough of Haringey - in which the claimants’ lawyers used made up case law citations that were either definitely or most likely to have been generated by AI.
